Formalities

Phrases like these hold no actual, productive value. These phrases can actually be counterproductive and shouldn't be used anymore. If you meet someone for the first time and they ask "how are you?" what would the appropriate response be? Someone who is distraught won't want to tell that person all their problems because it would overwhelm them. If you say "bad" they will act like they care and ask you why when they really don't and now you're awkwardly discussing your problems with someone you barely know. The appropriate and expected response is "good, how about you?" You get these formalities out of the way and then discuss what you guys are meant to talk about. In the end, these phrases are useless and make things more complicated than they have to be. If someone is hearing that for the first time and they think the person is genuinely asking how they are, and they tell the person how they are, the person asking isn't expecting tha...

Self Restraint

Rudy Gobert, an NBA all-star, has enough restraint and basketball IQ to know when to jump to block a shot and when to restrain himself and not jump because he knows the refs will call it a foul, but doesn't have common sense to refrain from touching all the mics close to him. At a press conference, Gobert got up from his chair and started to walk out of the room. Before leaving, however, using his massive 7'9" wingspan, Gobert went back to touch every mic on the table in "a childlike way" and mostly everything in the room including his teammates. He thought the whole Coronavirus media attention was a joke and was too immature to realize it is a real pandemic. It would've been one thing to do this and have nothing happen because of it, however Gobert tested positive for the virus and passed it onto his teammate Donovan Mitchell. This put all of the NBA on high alert and now there is a third person in the league testing positive for Coronavirus. Because of Gobe...

Legally Married

There has been an issue with marriage in the United States in more recent years. This issue is green cards through marriage. The idea behind this is that in order to gain a green card, you could just be married to a United States citizen. Using this information, many people trying to stay in the United States will come and get married to someone who is willing to marry them in order to gain green card status. This defeats the whole traditional value or marriage. Marriage is meant for people who are in love and want to spend their lives together. The paper work and all the legal parts behind it is usually just to make it official and viewed from the government as married. These people who have green card marriages are only doing it to be able to stay in the United States. I think that many of these marriages in Las Vegas have come because of green card marriages or just to gain the legal status of married. In my life, there has been one green card marriage close to me. A person at my ch...
